Hi.

Welcome to my blog! Excited to share all my ideas, adventures, and outfits!

Spring (Break) Essentials Guide

Spring (Break) Essentials Guide

I love this one piece! One pieces can be difficult for me because of the fit and my body type, but this one fits perfectly! {I usually get a medium in one-pieces, jumpsuits, and rompers because of my torso length.} I also like this specific style because the cut out and the style of the top are complimentary to my figure. Some one pieces can make me look like I have no figure at all, but this one shows off all the good and compliments it!

Whether you're going on a tropical spring break or you're just ready for warmer weather, this post is your guide for the perfect spring essentials! I love warm weather and I'm so ready for spring to come. I'm also ready for spring break! Some of you know that I am going to the Dominican Republic for spring break with a few of my best gal pals. I'm so ecstatic to be going and will be doing a separate travel guide post afterwards. All of these items are for my trip, however, this post is for anyone ready to soak up some rays!

As a college student, budget means everything to me. I have food expenses, "fun" expenses (like movies or getting dinner with friends), gas, and the list goes on and on. For this trip I have to be aware of the costs and make sure I stay on track with my budget. So not only is this a guide for spring essentials but it is {hopefully} a budget friendly guide as well! Let's start with swimsuits: if you're needing a new swimsuit this season look no further than Cupshe or Aerie. Both places have great prices and great quality.

Love this 2-piece set from Cupshe. The neckline is fun and different and the high waisted bottoms are super flattering! This swimsuit also is perfect for the 4th of July!

I am all for for excellent quality, so sometimes I'm willing to pay a little more because I know it will last longer. Both Cupshe and Aerie's prices are super low ($20-30) and the quality is really nice. The cool thing about Cupshe is, you only have to pay one price for a 2-piece swimsuit, whereas everywhere else you have to buy them separately. I like having both options. I love this matching 2-piece. It's high waisted, which I was bit nervous about but it ended up being super flattering. Anyone with hips will love a high waisted suit, because it actually compliments what you got instead of the opposite. When it comes to swimsuits it is extremely important that you feel comfortable, confident, and sexy in your suit! I decided to order all my suits online, which can be risky, but I loved trying them on at home; mostly because I have way better lighting at home than I do in any store. Fluorescent lighting makes everyone look bad--remember that! When I was shopping on Aerie's website, they were having a sale on tops, so I decided to get two to match my navy pair of bottoms that I already owned. {Right now they are having a sale on both their tops and bottoms!} That's the great thing about buying separately-you can mix and match or buy to match with something you already own. Depending on what you're looking for, Cupshe and/or Aerie are great places to find a cute suit this season!

Accessories are a great way to add to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. My go-tos are always earrings, shoes, and bags--which is exactly what I'll be writing about...DSW, Target, NordstromRack, and of course one of my favorite boutiques, Tulips are my stores for fun spring accessories, that (again) won't break the bank! Below is my essential accessory guide for spring!

Blush pink is my favorite neutral for spring!

Steve Madden is a fantastic shoe designer. His shoes are always trendy enough for the season, but still classic to last more than one season. His shoes are also comfortable, which in my book, is a must for shoes. I love these sandals because the small platform make them perfect for both dressy and casual occasions. The platinum blush pink also adds some dressiness to the look.

Everyone needs a good evening bag and a stunning pair of earrings!

I love straw bags! During the trip, we plan to go to some nice restaurants at the resort, so I thought that this straw clutch would be perfect as my evening bag. I love the neutral colors because it will go with everything and it's fun and different. I got this cutie at Tulips in Norman. {If you don't have a way to get to the store, I provided a link to a similar look on my Shop page}.

You will be seeing these earrings a lot when I'm on my trip because they are the perfect pop of color! NordstromRack is where it's at when it comes to earrings because the prices are amazing and they always have really unique stuff. I am definitely pairing these earrings with my one-piece swimsuit above!

You know me and statement earrings!! These are perfect because they will literally go with everything and they make quite the statement! I got these at Tulip (of course). I love boutiques because you can always find really exclusive stuff. If you're in Norman or the surrounding areas, definitely pay a visit to Tulips for all your spring accessory needs! I'm a big believer of shopping local, so go check them out!

The last few items that are absolutely essential for spring are: more sandals {duh}, sunglasses, a fun beach towel, and lotion to help you glow this season!   Target is a great place to stock up on sandals at a really reasonable price. They also have an array of sunglasses and beach towels to choose from to match anyone's budget!   The next two items are perfect for people who don't like spray tans/tanning beds, but still want to glow this spring. I am a very pale person and I'm proud of it! I love my skin tone, but coming out of winter I always look more than just pale-try transparent? I started using St. Tropez gradual tan lotion to help me get a nice glow going for my trip. So far I'm not orange nor do I have streaks! It's definitely  a great brand for self tanning that is subtle, doesn't smell and actually works! Bobbi Brown is who I use for makeup and skincare products. I have super sensitive skin and this brand has yet to break me out! I use their Pink Glow Illuminating Moisturizer on top of my regular moisturizer to add a bit of a glow to my face, hands, shoulders, and chest area! You don't need a lot because a little goes a long way with this product. For people who don't like to tan these two products are perfect to help your skin look luminous this spring!
